Accessibility Statement

How accessible this website is, what we have done to get there, and how to tell us if something does not work for you.

This document is a draft awaiting legal review.

This statement describes the accessibility work built into the site. It should be confirmed with a full audit — including testing with assistive technology — before it is presented as a formal statement of conformance.

Our commitment

Made Digital Solutions wants this website to be usable by as many people as possible. That includes people who use a screen reader, navigate with a keyboard, need larger text, use speech recognition software, or prefer reduced motion.

We build accessibility into our own client work, so it would be poor form not to apply the same standard here.

Standard we are working to

This website has been designed and built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA where practical.

We describe this as a target rather than a certified result: a formal conformance claim requires an independent audit, including testing with assistive technology. That audit is Independent accessibility audit — to be arranged to be supplied and this statement will be updated with the findings.

What we have done

  • Text and background colours are checked against WCAG AA contrast ratios, and the check runs as part of our build process
  • Every page can be operated with a keyboard alone, including the navigation menus and the forms
  • Focus is clearly visible wherever it lands, with a high-contrast focus ring
  • A skip link at the top of each page jumps straight to the main content
  • Headings follow a logical order and describe the content that follows them
  • Pages use semantic HTML — landmarks, lists, buttons and links used for what they are
  • Every form control has a visible label, and error messages explain what to do rather than only that something is wrong
  • Form errors are summarised at the top of the form with links to the fields concerned
  • Images carry meaningful alternative text, and decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology
  • Buttons and links are labelled descriptively — no "click here" or "read more" on its own
  • Animation is subtle, and is switched off entirely for anyone whose device requests reduced motion
  • Nothing important is communicated by colour alone
  • The mobile menu manages focus, can be closed with the Escape key and returns focus where it came from
  • Accordions use native HTML disclosure elements, which work without JavaScript
  • Text can be resized to 200% and the layout reflows without loss of content
  • Tap targets are at least 44 by 44 pixels

Known limitations

We are aware of the following, and are being straightforward about them:

  • The site has not yet been tested with every combination of screen reader and browser. Testing so far has been carried out with automated tools and manual keyboard checks.
  • Where a case study is awaiting screenshots, a labelled placeholder is shown. Once real screenshots are added, each will need alternative text that describes what it shows — a step we have documented for whoever adds them.
  • Any third-party form-handling or analytics service introduced later may introduce content we do not fully control. We will test anything added.

If you find something on this website you cannot use, please tell us. We will take it seriously and reply. Where a fix will take time, we will say so and tell you when to expect it — and in the meantime we will provide the information you were looking for another way.
